Heavy sterling silver case with snap-on bezel, hinged back (gold hinge) and hinged inner dust cover. stem wind. Unusual sprung, nail setting mechanism. Gold chronograph (movement stopping) button. Stamped with London hallmark, corresponding to the year 1901, and with maker's mark, "S.S" (S. Smith & Son). Serial number, "85122" (matching those on both movement and dial). Case diameter (not including crown) : 54mm. Case condition : 85%.
Fine quality, three quarter plate English lever movement. Jewelled to the centre (chaton set jewels). Chronograph (movement stopping) mechanism. Signed, "S. Smith & Son - The "Strand Watch" - Watchmaker's to the Admiralty, 9 Strand, London. - No.85B122". Unusual integral dust cover. Movement condition : 90%. Time keeping : good.
