Nice quality 9ct gold ladies Rotary wristwatch with original 9ct gold bracelet, dating from 1965.
Solid 9ct gold case still fitted with its original, attractive 9ct mesh bracelet. Bezel fitted with an acrylic UB crystal. Inside case back and bracelet clasp stamped with a full 9ct gold hallmark corresponding to London 1965, and with the maker’s mark “SD”. Case diameter (not including crown): 19mm. Bracelet clasp has four adjustments accommodating a wrist circumference of between approximately 145mm-155mm. Case/bracelet condition: 95%.
Original silvered dial with applied gilt batons and hands. Dial signed, "Rotary – 21 Jewels” and bears the Rotary ‘winged wheel’ logo. Dial condition : 90%.
High quality, silvered, 6.75
ligne, 21 jewel movement (ETA calibre 2412). Signed with the Rotary ‘winged wheel’ logo.
Capped, chaton set jewels. ‘Incabloc’ shock absorber. Movement condition: 100%.
Time keeping : good. Comes with a period jeweller’s
case.
In 1895 Moise Dreyfuss
opened a watch factory in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. The business grew
quickly and twelve years later the company opened an office in Moorfields,
London, England. In 1925 Rotary introduced its ‘winged wheel logo’
and during
W.W.II. the company became an official supplier to the British Army. The company
is still thriving, selling timepieces in over 35 countries worldwide.
