Scarce,
Swiss made, 9ct gold and stainless steel pocket watch retailed by the
prestigious London company, Dunhill. Dating from the 1930s.
Very
unusual 9ct gold ‘skeleton’ case with a screw-on stainless steel back and
bezel. The reverse of the outer case is marked, “9ct” and with the case
maker’s initials, “S.D.”. The inside of the back is marked, “Stainless
Steel – Staybrite”. Case diameter: 40mm. Case condition : 85% (very slight
flat spot to edge).
Attractive,
original, two-tone silver coloured dial with subsidiary seconds. Blued steel
hands. Dial signed, “Dunhill”. Dial condition : 75%.
Good quality, gilt, Swiss made, unsigned 10.5 ligne movement. 15 jewels. Compensation balance wheel. Decorated with Geneva stripes. Movement condition (appearance) : 85%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
