'Amex' wrist watch with a sterling silver full hunter case. Dating from 1916.
Watches such as these were designed with military use in mind and were more
often that not sold to troops as private purchase items.
Sterling silver hunter case with sprung loaded cover, snap on bezel and hinged
back. Protective cover is opened automatically by pressing a button mounted on
the side of the case at the 4 o'clock position. Case is stamped with a British
sterling silver import hallmark corresponding to the year 1916. Silver wire
lugs. Case width (not including crown or button) : 35mm. Case condition : 85%.
White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Black Roman numerals and a red number
12. Blued steel hands and numerals. Dial condition : 100%
Good quality, gilt, 13 ligne, 15 jewel, Swiss made movement. Signed, "Amex".
Movement condition (appearance) : 98%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
