Rare LONGINES "Romanian Railways" Pocket Watch. c.1928

Rare, Romanian Railway issue pocket watch manufactured by Longines and dating from around 1928.
Solid nickel case with a hinged bezel, back and inner dust cover. 'Nail' hand setting mechanism (button located on edge of case at the 11 o'clock position). Back of case stamped with an image of a steam locomotive and a winged wheel (the insignia of Căile Ferate Romāne - Romanian National Railways). Bezel fitted with an acrylic UB glass. Case serial number "4880024" (matching movement number). Case diameter (not including pendant) : 52mm. Case condition : 85% (slight wear locomotive design).
Original white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Bold black numerals and red inner 24 hour chapter. Dial signed, "Longines" and with the Initials, "C.F.R." (C.F.R.= Caile Ferate Romane - Rumanian Railways). Blued steel hands. Dial condition : 100% (very tip of minute hand shortened).
Nice quality, gilt, 19 ligne, 15 jewel movement. Signed, "Longines" (calibre 19.71N). Movement serial number "4880024" (matching case number). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Breguet over-coil hairspring. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
