Stainless steel Movado wrist watch in excellent condition. Dating from the 1950s.
Solid stainless steel case with a screw-on back and attractive 'bombé' lugs. Unusual, original winding crown bearing the image of the Movado "watch & hand" logo. Inside back signed, with the case maker's mark, "F.B" (François Borgel - a Swiss company specialising in waterproof cases - at the time this watch was manufactured, Borgel was owned by Taubert & Fils), also "Movado Factories, Switzerland" and with the "watch & hand" logo. Case width (not including crown) : 35mm. Case condition : 98%.
Distinctive, beautifully restored black dial with silver coloured hands and raised batons. Luminous hands and hour markers (luminous paint no longer active). Dial signed, "Movado". Dial condition : 100%.
Nice quality, nickel plated, 12.5 ligne, 17 jewel sweep seconds movement. Signed, "Movado Factories" (calibre 127). Shock absorber. Breguet overcoil hairspring. Movement condition (appearance) : 99%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
