Oversize, military type, West End Watch Co. "Queen Anne" wrist watch dating from around 1920.
Large, bulbous, solid nickel case with a snap-on bezel, inner dust cover and a stainless steel back. Wire lugs. Inside back signed, "Everbright Steel Back". Fitted with an acrylic UB crystal. Case width (not including crown) : 38mm. Case condition : 85%.
White enamel military style dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands and numerals (luminous paint no longer active). Dial signed in black & red, "West End Watch Co. - Queen Anne - Bombay-Calcutta". Dial condition : 100%.
Large, gilt, 15 ligne, seven jewel Swiss
movement. Signed with the "West End" logo. Movement condition
(appearance) : 90%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
The West End Watch Company is a Swiss watch manufacturer which was formed in Saint-Imier in 1886 by Amstutz and Droz. The company developed and produced the first waterproof pocket watch which they named, "L'Impermeable".
