Scarce, French made, stainless steel, electronic Lip "Nautic-Ski" diver's wrist watch similar in appearance to IWC's "Aquatimer" & Jaeger LeCoultre's "Polaris" models. Dating from around 1967, this model was Lip's first specially designed diver's watch and at the time was also the world's first electronic diver's model.
Stainless steel case with screw on back. Twin (original) crowns with cross hatch decoration. Top crown turns inner time elapse bezel, bottom crown sets hands and date. Inside back of case signed, "Lip." and with the case maker's name "Super Compressor" (same type used for IWC's "Aquatimer"). Case reference "184-003". Outside of case is decorated with Lip's coat of arms and marked, "Lip - Electronic - Superwaterproof - Patents Pending". Case width (not including crowns) : 36mm. Case condition : 80%.
Original, black dial with outer black time elapse bezel (under crystal - operated by turning top crown). Dial signed, "Lip - Nautic-Ski - Electronic" and bears Lip's "Electronic" lightning flash motif. Applied steel batons with Luminous centres. Luminous hands. Special Lip "Electronic" lightning flash second hand. Date window at 3 o'clock position. Dial condition : 100%.
Nice quality, gilt, 11.5 ligne 13 jewel, electro-mechanical (electronic) movement. Lip calibre R184. Shock absorber. Movement condition (appearance) : 98%. Good working order. Time keeping good.
Fitted with a new-old stock rubber 'tropic' strap as was fitted to the watch when new.
