Unusual Silver EBERHARD & CO. Fob Watch. 1920s
SOLD



Unusual, silver fob watch made by the Swiss watch manufacturer, Eberhard & Co., and dating from the 1920s. Retailed in Rangoon, Burma by the department store, "Rowe & Co.".
Solid sterling silver case with a snap-on back and bezel. Case suspended from a hallmarked sterling silver pin and chain. Inside back of case stamped with a Swiss "0,935" standard silver hallmark (purer than sterling) and with the maker's name, "Eberhard & Co.". Fitted with original glass crystal in perfect condition. Case width (not including crown) : 26mm. Case condition : 90%.
Original white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands and numerals (luminous paint no longer active). Dial signed, "Rowe & Co., Rangoon". Dial condition : 98% (tiny fine hairline of very edge of dial).
Good quality, nickel plated, 10.5 ligne,15 jewel movement. Signed "Eberhard & Co." (calibre FHF 1146). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Movement condition (appearance) : 85% (some wear to plating - does not affect performance). Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
