Scarce, stainless steel Movado wrist watch with an early bumper automatic movement and day & date functions. Features a quick change mechanism for the date. Dating from the 1950s.

Robust stainless steel case with screw-on back. Small push piece mounted on edge of case at the 4 o'clock position (depressing this button advances the date wheel - day can also be advanced manually by winding hands back & forth between 9 & 12 o'clock). Original crown. Inside back signed, "Movado Factories". Case width (not including crown) : 33mm. Case condition : 90%.

Original silver coloured dial with subsidiary seconds. Day & date windows both within subsidiary seconds dial. Raised, gilt, alternating numerals and diamond shaped hour markers. Gilt hands. Dial signed, "Movado - Automatic". Dial condition : 80% (slight ageing).

Nice quality, nickel plated, 17 jewel bumper automatic movement with both day & date functions. Signed, "Movado Factories" (calibre 118). Shock absorber. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
