Solid silver & gold, early 'International Watch Co.' pocket watch dating from around 1896.
Attractive solid sliver case with hinged bezel, back and inner dust cover. Rim of back and bezel gilded with pink gold. "Nail" hand setting mechanism button on edge of case at the 1 o'clock position. Back of case decorated with engine turned design with a central hand engraved shield design contain the initials, "A.H.". Inside back stamped with both Swiss and German '0,800' silver hallmarks. Inside back signed "IWC" and nicely hand engraved with the inscription, "A. i/l. H - Weihnachten -1898". Dust cover signed, "International Watch Co." and bears the etched image of six prize medals. Fitted with an acrylic UB crystal. Case diameter (not including pendant) : 50mm. case condition : 80% (slight wear to gilding - a couple of small, shallow flat spots on edge of case).
White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Dial signed, "IWC Schaffhausen". Black Breguet numerals and outer red chapter in 5 second divisions. Ornate gilt hands. Dial condition : 100%.
High quality, gilt, 15 jewel IWC calibre 57 movement (unsigned). Movement serial number : 162907. Breguet hairspring. Screwed chaton set jewels. Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Movement condition : 100%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
