ROTARY Wrist Watch. Original Bakelite Box. 1950s

Mid size Rotary wrist watch with original bakelite box. Manufactured for the U.K. market and dating from the 1950s.
Chrome plated, mid size, English made case (by Dennison) with screw-on stainless steel back. Case back signed, "Aquatite - Denisteel Back". Case width (not including crown) : 30.5mm. Case condition : 90% (plating in perfect condition).
Still fitted with original strap (very good condition)
Original matt silver dial with raised gilt numerals and signature. Gilt hands and red centre second hand. Dial decorated with crosshair design and signed, "Rotary - 17 Jewels". Dial condition : 90% (slight tarnishing around edge).
Good quality, nickel plated, 17 jewel movement (ETA calibre 1080). Signed with the Rotary winged logo. Shock absorber. Capped escape wheel jewels. Movement condition : 100%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
Comes with original cream coloured Bakelite box.
In 1895 Moise Dreyfuss opened a watch factory in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. The business grew quickly and twelve years later the company opened an office in Moorfields, London, England. In 1925 Rotary introduced its ‘winged wheel logo’ and during W.W.II. the company became an official supplier to the British Army. The company is still thriving, selling timepieces in over 35 countries worldwide.
