Beautiful solid silver & gilt Longines pocket watch dating from around 1935. In rare, virtually as new condition.
Attractive solid sliver case with hinged bezel, back and inner dust cover. Bezel and rim of back gilded with pink gold. Back decorated with engine turned design. Inside back signed, "Longines". Dust cover signed, "Longines - 10 Grands Prix" and bears the images of gold and sliver medals. Fitted with an acrylic UB crystal. Case diameter (not including pendant) : 50mm. case condition : 98%.
White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Black Breguet numerals and outer red 24 hour chapter. Gilt hands. Dial signed, "Longines". Dial condition : 100%.

37.93). Breguet hairspring. Compensation balance wheel. Movement condition
(appearance) : 100%. Time keeping : good.
The Compagnie des Montres Longines Francillon S.A. was formed in the 1830s by Ernest Francillon at Saint-Imier, Switzerland and has always been renowned for design and precision. Famous aviators, explorers and pioneers have all consulted Longines. The company provided timers used at the first modern day Olympics in 1892 and has been closely associated with the worldwide development of sport timing ever since. It has been responsible for timekeeping at no less than fourteen Olympic Games.
