Stainless steel IWC (International Watch Co.) wrist watch with a rare, unusual case. Dating from around 1938 (dated by case & movement serial numbers).

Rare, original, stainless steel case with snap-on back and bezel. Unusual lugs with fixed strap bars. Case stamped with IWC serial number "993168". Back of case professionally engraved with the date "1939.V.2" (2nd May 1939). Case width (not including crown) : 30.5mm. Case condition : 90%.

Original, attractive, two-tone silver dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands, hour markers and numerals (3, 6 & 13), (luminous paint faded with age). Dial signed, "International Watch Co. - Shaffhausen". Dial condition : 75% (slight discolouration).

High quality, nickel plated, 15 jewel movement. Signed, "International Watch Co." (calibre 83). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Chaton set jewels. Geneva stripes decoration. Movement serial number : "962041". Movement condition (appearance) : 98%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
