Quality, sterling silver chronograph pocket watch with a key wound, fusee driven, English lever movement. Made in 1890 by the Scottish watchmaker, "William Craik".
Solid sterling silver case with hinged bezel, back and inner dust cover. Inner dust cover has two key holes, one for winding the watch (winds anti-clockwise), the other for setting the hands. Chronograph movement stopping switch (mounted on edge of case at 2 o'clock position). Stamped with a full British sterling silver hallmark corresponding to the year 1890, and with case maker's mark, "C.C.". Serial number, "3716" (matching number on movement). Case diameter (not including pendant) : 50mm. Case condition : 90%.
White enamel, sunk dial with black roman numerals and outer chapter divided into 5ths of a second (numbered up to 300 in intervals of 25). Blue steel hands and chronograph sweep second hand. Dial condition : 100%.
Nice quality, gilt, three quarter plate, fusee driven, English lever movement. Screwed chaton set jewels. Chronograph (movement stopping) mechanism. Over sprung, cut, bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Balance cock beautifully decorated with a hand engraved foliate design. Signed, "Will'm Craik, Dalkeith - 3716". Movement condition (appearance) : 95%. Time keeping : good.
Comes with appropriate watch key.
