Stainless steel wrist watch manufactured by Longines for West End Watch Co. Dating around 1941.
Stainless steel mid sized case with screw-on back. Back of case signed, "West End Watch Co.". Case diameter (not including crown) : 30.5mm. Case condition : 90%.
Attractive matt silver coloured dial with subsidiary seconds. Alternate luminous numerals and hour markers and luminous hands (luminous paint on dial no longer active). Dial signed, "West End Watch Co.". Dial condition : 85%.
High quality, gilt, 15 jewel
movement. Signed, "Longines" (calibre 10.68Z). Chaton set jewels.
Movement condition (appearance) : 95%. Time keeping : good.
The West End Watch Company is a Swiss watch manufacturer which was formed in Saint-Imier in 1886 by Amstutz and Droz. The company developed and produced the first waterproof pocket watch which they named, "L'Impermeable".
