Scarce, solid 9ct gold "Borgel Patent" case wrist watch with enamel military style dial. Dating from 1919 (the year after the end of W.W.I.).
Solid 9ct gold, Borgel type case (once the sprung loaded winding crown is pulled out of position, the movement and bezel screws directly into case). Fixed gold wire lugs. "Nail" hand setting button on edge of case at 4 o'clock position. Case signed "F.B" (François Borgel - a Swiss company specialising in early dust/moisture-proof cases). British 9ct gold import hallmark, corresponding to the year 1925. Fitted with original glass crystal (good condition - a couple of minor scratches). Case diameter (not including crown) : 34.5mm. Case condition : 90% (a few marks on winding crown).White enamel military style dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands and numerals. Dial condition : 98% (a coupe of tiny nicks out of edge - not visible, hidden under bezel).
Good quality, nickel plated, Swiss made 15 jewel movement (unsigned). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Decorated with Geneva stripes. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
