Steel ROTARY "GT MONZA" Automatic Wrist Watch

Good quality, Swiss made, stainless steel, automatic Rotary "GT Monza" wrist watch. Dating from around 1970.
Heavy stainless steel tonneau shaped case with screw-on back and concealed crown. Back signed, "Monza GT". Case width : 38mm. Case condition : 90%.
Silver coloured dial with raised minute chapter and batons. Red sweep seconds hand. Date at 3 o'clock position. Dial bears the image of two chequered flags and is signed, "Rotary Automatic - GT Monza". Dial condition : 80% (slight ageing to lacquer).
High quality, nickel plated, Swiss made, 21 jewel automatic movement (A.S. Calibre 1902/03). Signed with Rotary Watch Co. logo. Shock absorber. Movement condition (appearance) : 98%. Time keeping : good.
In 1895 Moise Dreyfuss opened a watch factory in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland.
The business grew quickly and twelve years later the company opened an office in
Moorfields, London, England. In 1925 Rotary introduced its ‘winged wheel logo’
and during W.W.II. the company became an official supplier to the British Army.
The company is still thriving, selling timepieces in over 35 countries
worldwide.
