Scarce, solid 9ct gold "Borgel Patent" case wrist watch. Dating from 1925. Excellent original condition.
Solid 9ct gold, Borgel type case (once the sprung loaded winding crown is pulled out of position, the movement and bezel screws directly into case). Fixed gold wire lugs. "Nail" hand setting button on edge of case at 4 o'clock position. Case signed "F.B" (François Borgel - a Swiss company specialising in early dust/moisture-proof cases - at the time this watch was manufactured, Borgel was owned by Taubert & Fils). British 9ct gold import hallmark, corresponding to the year 1925. Fitted with original glass crystal (very good condition). Case diameter (not including crown) : 32.5mm. Case condition : 95%.White enamel "double sunk" dial with subsidiary seconds. Black Breguet style numerals. Blue steel hands. Dial condition : 98%.
Good quality, nickel plated, Swiss made 15 jewel movement (unsigned). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Attractive "fish scale" engine turned decoration. Movement condition (appearance) : 100%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
