Rare Boer War "Lord Roberts" Souvenir Pocket Watch. c.1900

Rare, nickel cased pocket watch bearing the image of Field Marshal Lord Roberts. Made around 1900 as a souvenir of the Anglo-Boer War (South African War).
Solid nickel case with snap-on back and bezel. "Nail" hand setting button on edge of case at 1 o'clock position. Still fitted with original glass crystal (nice condition - minor wear). Case diameter (not including pendant) : 47mm. Case condition : 80%.
White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds. Black Roman numerals. Decorated with a finely detailed image of Field Marshal Lord Roberts. Dial condition : 98%.
Swiss made, nickel plated cylinder escapement movement (unsigned). Decorated with an attractive damascened decoration. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Time keeping : good.
Lord Roberts was Commander-in-Chief of the British & Colonial forces during the South African (Anglo-Boer) War (1899-1902) and also Commander-in-Chief of the British Army (1901-1904).
