Scarce Omega Wrist Watch. Steel Hermetic Case. c.1938 (Case Parts & Movement)

Scarce and unusual Omega wrist watch with a stainless steel "Hermetic" type case. Made for the U.K. market around 1938.

Unusual solid stainless steel 4 piece case. The movement is held by a nickel ring which has a built-in winding stem pipe and a snap-on back. This section fits tightly into the main stainless steel body, which is then sealed by a stainless steel screw-down bezel. Case signed, "Denisteel" & "Dennison Watch Case Company Ltd.". Omegas of this period which were specially made for the U.K. market were fitted with cases made by Dennison (see also items 67 & 202). Fitted with an acrylic U.B. crystal. Case width (not including crown) : 33.5mm. Case condition : 90%.

White enamel dial military style dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands and numerals (luminous paint on numerals, no longer active). Dial signed, "Omega". Dial condition : 100%.

Nice quality, nickel plated 15 jewel movement. Signed, "Omega" (calibre 26.5 SOB T.2). Bimetallic compensation balance wheel. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Time keeping : good.
