period wrist watch with a sterling silver full hunter case. Dating from 1915.
Watches such as these were designed with military use in mind and were more
often that not sold to troops as private purchase items.
Sterling silver hunter case with sprung loaded cover, snap on bezel and hinged
back. Solid cover which is opened automatically by pressing a button mounted on the
side of the case at the 6 o'clock position. Case is stamped with a British
sterling silver import hallmark corresponding to the year 1915. Silver wire
lugs. Case width (not including crown or button) : 35mm. Case condition : 80%
(some light wear and tear, a minor flat spot on edge of case).
White enamel military style dial with subsidiary seconds. Luminous hands and
numerals (luminous paint faded). Dial condition : 100%
Good quality, 15 jewel, Swiss made movement. Unsigned, but positively identified
as being manufactured by "FHF". Decorated with Geneva stripes. Movement
condition (appearance) : 85%. Recently serviced. Time keeping : good.
