

Quality blue steel "Bonheur" pocket watch with an unusual exposed balance movement.
Attractive, slim, blue steel cache type case with snap-on bezel. Gilt fittings. "Nail" hand setting mechanism at 1 o'clock position. Case marked "Acier Garanti" (Guaranteed steel). Bevelled glass crystal. Winding crown signed "Bonheur". Case diameter (not including pendant) : 50mm. Case condition : 80%.
White enamel dial with black numerals. White and yellow gold leaf minute markers. "Balance" window at 6 o'clock position. Signed, "Bonheur" (Happiness). Gilt, ornate "Louis" style hands. Dial condition : 90%.
Gilt, 15 jewel, Swiss made movement with exposed balance (visible through aperture in dial). Compensation balance wheel. Movement signed, "Brevet - 15 Rubis - Ancre Levees Visibles Double Plateau" (roughly translates as : 15 jewels, Patent, visible lever, double plate). Movement condition : 90%. Time keeping : good.
Patents for this watch were taken out in 1898 & 1901 by Ernest Degoumois of St Imier, Switzerland.
