An interesting letter opener with built-in ruler and pen knife. Made as an advertising piece for Hoover Ltd (household appliances) and commemorating the 1960 Rome Olympic Games.
Steel letter opener blade doubling as a ruler (marked in both inches and centimetres). The handle houses an stainless steel blade made by "H.Fisher, Sheffield, England". One side of the handle is a gilt impression of the famous Art Deco "Hoover" building (London) and the reverse is marked "Olympic Games, 1960". Overall length : 234mm. Mint, unused condition. Still in original box.
