Silver & Enamel "Yokohama Yacht Club" Cigarette Box. 1934

Quality Japanese, high grade silver and enamel cigarette box presented by the "Yokohama Yacht Club" in 1934.

Japanese silver (998 - purer than sterling) cigarette box fully lined with a dark hard wood interior. Presented by the Yokohama Yacht club as a prize for a yacht race in 1934. The lid bears the club's pennant in blue, white and red enamel. It is also professionally hand engraved with the following inscription, "Y.Y.C. - Restricted Class - Wednesday Series 1934 - Won By Spartan". Base stamped with the silver mark, "998", the "rising sun" and the maker's mark, "Asahi". Good condition (several minor shallow dings). Dimensions : 122mm x 86mm x 45mm..
