Fine Ivory "Fairchild" Dip Pen (Boxed) c.1870

Fine quality dip pen with genuine ivory handle made by Fairchild of New York. Dating from around 1870.
Ivory handle with a delicately turned finial, mounted on to a gold filled nib holder, signed "Fairchild 9". Fitted with original gold (unmarked) nib, signed "Leroy W. Fairchild - New York - 2". Comes with original leather covered case which is lined with blue silk (some ageing to leather). Length of pen (including nib) : 151mm. Pen in excellent condition (no trace of ink - possibly unused).
