High quality set of enamelled Scots Guards cufflinks produced by the English manufacturer, "Lambournes". Dating from the late 1930s/1940's.
These rolled gold cufflinks are decorated with beautifully hand-painted enamel images of the badge of the Scots Guards regiment and with the colours of the Household Division. The backs are stamped with the maker's mark, "L'sB" (Lambournes, Birmingham). Very good condition (some light surface wear).
These cufflinks come with a good quality ‘vintage style’ jeweller’s case.
The Lambournes ‘Sophos’ company was
founded by Barrett Lambourne in 1868 producing spats, rigid braces, buttons and
studs for the gentry, with premises in Great Charles Street, Birmingham. In 1932
the company moved to Great Hampton Row, Birmingham and increased its range of
products to include cuff links, collar studs, tie slides, armbands, belts,
braces, garters, sock suspenders and leather goods. The company was owned and
run by the Lambourne family until 1981 when it was taken over by the Arnold
Wills Group.
