Rare Duke of Wellington Peninsular War Token. c.1812

Rare copper halfpenny token produced to commemorate Duke of Wellington's Peninsular War campaign. Dating from around 1812 and believed to have been produced by J. K. Picard, Hull Lead Works, Yorkshire.
The front of this medal bears the image of the Duke wearing a laurel wreath, surrounded by the Latin caption “Hispaninam Et Lusitaniam Restituit Wellington” (translates as: Spain & Portugal Reinstated Wellington). The reverse lists all the battles of the Peninsular War and and their dates, “Vimiera – Aug. 21 1808, Talavera – July 28 1809, Almeida – May 5 1811, Ciudad Rodrigo - Jan. 19 1812, Badajoz – April 2 1812, Salamanca – July 22 1812, Madrid – Aug. 12 1812”. Diameter : 27.5mm. Good condition.
