Scarce 9ct Gold British "B Class" Submarine Brooch. c.1905

Scarce, English, 9ct gold brooch modelled on a British "B Class" submarine. Dating from around 1905.
This attractive jeweller made brooch is mounted on a brooch pin and it's reverse is stamped, "9ct Gold" as well as with the maker's mark, "A.Bros" (Ahronsberg Brothers, Birmingham). Length : 46mm. Nice condition. Comes with a period jeweller's case.
The first B-class submarine was built in 1904. Eleven in total were produced, most of which served during W.W.I. The captain of B.11, Lieutenant-Commander Norman D Holbrook was awarded a Victoria Cross for his daring attack on the Turkish battleship, "Messudiyeh".
