Victorian Novelty Water Pump Desk Calendar. 1892

Very unusual Victorian novelty desk calendar in the form of a water pump.
Made from paper covered board, it has a moveable wooden handle (simulating a pump action) and a spout made from lead. The date is scrolled by the use of two metal knobs situated on either side. Printed on the underside is the retailers name, "H. Grube Ltd, 12a Paternoster Row, London. E.C." and the maker's name, "Brumby & Clarke Ltd". It also has a registered design number which corresponds to the year 1892.

overall condition considering the age and material (slight soiling and wear to
the paper covering). Height : 160mm. Width (not including pump handle) : 93mm. A
