Quality "B.P. Motor Spirit" Cigarette Lighter. 1946

Nice quality cigarette lighter specially made for the Anglo Iranian Oil Co. (British Petroleum) in 1946.

Made from stainless steel, the front of this "lift arm" type petrol lighter is professionally engraved with the B.P. badge and the inscription "Anglo Iranian Oil Co. Ltd. - Motor "BP" Spirit". The reverse is engraved the same but in Arabic and the sides are marked, "Abadan Refinery, South Iran 1946". The lighter is not signed with any manufacturer's name, but I would imagine that it was locally made especially for the refinery (possibly as a corporate gift). Overall height (including filler cap) : 52mm. Nice condition. Working order.
