Rare Original W.W.II. Period German Car Badge

Original German W.W.II. period car badge made for the "Forces Driving Trades".

Attractive silver plated and enamel car badge bearing the image of the Third Reich eagle standing on a steering wheel with a swastika on it's chest. It also bears the following inscription, "Reichsverband des kraftfahrgewerbes" which roughly translates as "The Reich's Forces Driving Trades". The back has the following makers mark, "Paulmann & Crone Ludensheid". The badge has it's fixing mounts missing either side which has resulted in some damage to the enamel. This damage has no doubt been caused by the badge being forcibly removed from the vehicle it was originally attached, most likely by a war time trophy hunter! There is also some flaking to the enamel along the bottom edge. Diameter of badge : 61mm.

Rare and interesting item, appealing to both automobilia and W.W.II. collectors.
