Scarce, original car mascot made in the form of John Hassall's famous Skegness comic character, "The Jolly Fisherman", dating from the 1920's.
This amusing silver plated car mascot is in the form of Hassall's dancing fisherman and has a very nice aged patina. Currently mounted on a wooden display base (which can be easily removed). Overall height (not including bolt or wooden base) : 82mm. Good condition.
This character was originally created in 1908 by the English illustrator, John Hassall for a poster he designed for the Great Northern Railway which advertised their service to the Lincolnshire seaside resort of Skegness.
