The Prince Henry Cup was a series of famous long distance motoring reliability trials which took the name of it's sponsor, the motoring enthusiast, Prince Henry of Prussia (brother of Kaiser Wilhelm II). The series ran annually until 1914 and in 1911 was specially held to commemorate the coronation of King George V (Prince Henry's cousin). Due to this fact, the 1911 trial was organised jointly by both the 'Kaiserlicher Automobil Club' and the 'Royal Automobile Club', it consisted of 90 entrants and ran between Hamburg in Germany and England. Many famous drivers and personalities took part in these trials including Ferdinand Porsche, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Prince Henry himself. The famous English touring car, the Vauxhall Prince Henry was given it's name after competing in the 1911 Prince Henry Cup.
