Scarce Bugatti Owners Club Pennant. 1954

Scare Bugatti Owners Club pennant awarded in 1954.

This double sided pennant is made from what appears to be celluloid and bears the image of the Bugatti Owners Club badge and is engraved with the date, 1954. The celluloid is held by chrome plated fittings. Length : 165mm. Good condition (lower section of pole missing). Comes with a copy of the relevant page from a 1954 issue of the club's journal, "Bugantics", which lists the 1954 pennant recipients.

This pennant would have been awarded to one of the following 1954 recipients : W/Cdr. C. P. Osmond, G. Hartley-Smith Jnr, R. Kettel , F/Lt. A. B. Galuszka, A. K. Haworth, J. Horridge, J. Berry, W. Hudson Mille (Overseas), K. H. Miles (Overseas).

These Pennants were awarded only to select members as club colours for meritorious service to the Club. Only a maximum of ten were issued each year. They were intended only to be flown at Club Meetings, or when members were representing the Club at other Club's fixtures. The pennants were awarded for such instances as : winning the team event at Shelsley Walsh or at any other Club's meetings, helping to organise and run events, obtaining new members, and generally furthering the interests of the Club.
