Bronze & Enamel Hill Climb Medal. 1925

Very attractive patinated bronze and enamel hill climb medal issued by the Sydenham & District Motor Club in 1925.
The front of the medal shows a goddess with a trumpet and a laurel wreath standing on a winged wheel. It bears the inscription in orange and black enamel, "Sydenham & District Motor Club". The reverse is professionally hand engraved, "Hill Climb - D.S. Richardson - 5-4-25". Sydenham is a suburb in the South of London which is very close to the old Crystal Palace motor racing circuit (which was first built a year after this medal was presented). Length of medal (not including bale ring) : 47.5mm. Very good condition.
