Silver Bugatti Owners' Club Prescott Hill Climb Trophy. 1939 - Mrs. K. Hague - Riley

Sterling silver trophy presented by the Bugatti Owners' Club (owner's of Prescott) as a prize for the fastest lady driver at the Prescott Open Hill Climb event on the 14th May 1939.
The front of this nice quality, solid sterling silver trophy bears the enamelled badge of the Bugatti Owners' Club. The reverse is engraved with the inscription, "Prescott Open Hill Climb - May 14th 1939 - Fastest Lady Driver - Mrs K. Hague - 59.32 Secs." and is stamped with an English sterling silver hallmark and with the maker's initials, "G.B. & Co." (G. Bryan & Co., Birmingham). Overall height : 99mm. Weight : 77g. Good condition. As well as her husband, T.B. Hague, Mrs K. Hague entered this event driving a 1,496cc Riley. This trophy was presented to Mrs Hague at the Bugatti Owners Club annual dinner held on the 7th December 1946 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London (due to W.W.II., no B.O.C. annual dinners were held, or trophies presented between 1939 and 1946). This trophy also comes with a copy of the relevant pages from the original programme for this event as well as a copy of an article from the B.O.C. magazine, "Bugantics", which announces the annual dinner.
The Prescott Hill Climb near Cheltenham in England is one of the county's finest speed hill climb courses in the country. It is also the headquarters of the Bugatti Owners Club who have owned it since 1938.
