Scarce Early Motor Racing Pencil Box. c.1930

A scarce child's pencil box decorated with a very attractive period motor racing scene. Most likely manufactured in France around 1930.

This box is made from black lacquered papier-mâché with a colourful design on it's lid depicting two period racing cars in the national colours of Italy and France. The lid is held in place by catch operated by a push button. Overall length : 205mm. Sound condition (some wear to lacquer and paper design on lid).
