Nice quality, 9ct gold & enamel early motor club medal made for the 'Ancient Briton Motor & Cycle Club'. Presented to the Honorary Secretary & Treasurer in 1908.
The front of this beautiful solid 9ct pink gold medal bears the image of a dragon in red enamel and the club's title in blue enamel within a scroll above. The background is beautifully hand engraved with a decorative design. The reverse is also professionally hand engraved with the inscription, "Presented to Sam W Simmons - Hon. Sec. & Tres. 1908". It is stamped with a full English 9ct gold hallmark corresponding to the year 1907 and with the maker's initials "V&S" (Vaughton & Son, Birmingham). Length (not including suspension ring : 37mm. Nice condition. Comes with period jewellers box.
