Brooklands was the world's first purpose built motor racing circuit. It was
built in Weybridge, Surrey, England, and opened on 28th June 1907. It was the
home to many important events including three successful World Land Speed Record
attempts. It closed at the outbreak of war in 1939 when it's grounds were taken
over by the aircraft manufacturer Vickers.
