Nice quality, English made, silver plated and enamel Art Deco dashboard mounted St. Bartholomew badge. Dating from around 1930.

The centre of this very attractive Art Deco badge bears the image of St. Bartholomew, with the inscription, "Guard, Prosper & Bring Happiness". The badge is decorated in green, black and pale blue champlevé enamel. The reverse is stamped with the British design registration number, "753589" which corresponds to the year 1930 and the maker's mark, "Birmingham Medal Co.". Overall width (including lugs) : 81mm. Nice condition.

St. Bartholomew badges and mascots were produced for the London hospital of the same name. These badges and mascots were intended to bring good luck to the car's occupants and the sale proceeds were donated to the hospital funds.
