Scarce, original, cast metal car mascot modeled in the form of Winston Churchill. Dating from around 1945.

This interesting mascot bears the face of Churchill with a "V" (for victory) background. These mascots were produced at the end of W.W.II. as part of a small range of items cast from the metal taken from German aircraft shot down over Britain. The proceeds from their sale were donated to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. The car mascot is by far the hardest to find and most sought after item from the range. Currently mounted on a bakelite display base (which can be easily removed). Overall height (not including bolt or bakelite base) : 127mm. Good condition.
