"Goodyear" Desk Note Holder & Calendar. 1928

Very attractive desk note holder with a built-in calendar. Made as a corporate gift for the Goodyear Tyre & Rubber Co. in 1928.

Manufactured by "The J. G. Mergott Co." of Newark, N.J., this desk item is made from metal with an antique gilt finish. The lid bears the Goodyear logo and is surrounded by a decorative border. Lifting the lid reveals a desk calendar (dated 1928) which is mounted into its rear. The calendar can be changed by removing the bar at the leading edge of the cover. The base serves as a holder for note paper and has a flap (also bearing the Goodyear logo) which acts as a paperweight, keeping the leaves neatly compressed.

Dimensions : 145mm X 96mm X 36mm. Good condition (some minor wear to gilt finish).
