Large, stainless steel "Sherpa-Graph" chronograph wrist watch made by Enicar Watch Co. and given as a presentation by the Alfa Romeo motor company. Dating from around 1965.
Stainless steel case with snap-on bezel and a locking back (locks by twisting clockwise through 45 degrees). Twin chronograph pushers (top - starts and stops chrono., bottom - resets). Original Enicar crown. Back of case decorated with an oyster and pearl logo, signed, "Enicar - Sherpa 300" and professionally engraved with the inscription "An Appreciation from Alfa Romeo". Case width (not including crown or pushers) : 40mm. Case condition : 85%.
Black dial with grey registers (30 minute register, 12 hour register and subsidiary seconds). Steel hour markers with luminous tips. Luminous hands. Outer, black mirror finish chapter with tachymetre scale. Dial marked with Enicar "planet" logo and signed, "Enicar - Sherpa-Graph". Dial condition : 100%.
High quality, gilt, 17 jewel, fast beat chronograph movement (Valjoux calibre 72 - same movement as used in Rolex Daytona chronograph). Movement signed, "Enicar". Shock absorber. Movement condition : 100%. Good working order. Time keeping : good.
In 1956 Enicar supplied the Swiss Himalayan Expedition with it's watches. From then on, Enicar named it's range of hard-wearing sport's watches "Sherpa".
