"Dinky Toys" Die Cast Auto Union Record Car. c.1938

Miniature diecast model based on the 1935 Auto Union Type-B Record Car.  Made in England around 1938 by Meccano Ltd. as part of their "Dinky Toys" series (listed as Auto Union Racing Car - No. 23d). 

This model is an example of the later pre-war, non-driver version with the riveted base-plate and smooth hub caps. It is still fitted with it's original herringbone pattern tyres and is decorated with it's red factory paint work and silver racing numbers. Good original condition (no damage, some chipping to paint). Length : 100mm.
