Original, humorous chromolithograph motoring print by the famous sporting artist, Cecil Aldin. Dating from 1905.

This very attractive print was taken from Walter Emanuel's book "A Gay Dog", which was beautifully illustrated by Cecil Aldin and Published by Heinemann, London in 1905. This print depicts an Edwardian lady driving a motor car with her bulldog sitting beside her wearing a pair of motoring goggles. Double matted. Overall dimensions of mount : 355mm x 305mm. Image dimensions : 261mm x 192mm. Very good condition.

Cecil Aldin, the son of a builder was born in Slough, England in 1870 and studied at the South Kensington school of Art. He worked as a comic illustrator in the 1890's before achieving great success as a sporting artist. He retired to Majorca in 1930 and died in 1935.
