Quality LeJeune "Fox Hunt" Car Mascot (By Ch. Palliet)

Beautifully modelled, chrome plated car mascot depicting a fox hunter on horseback jumping a hedge. This piece was designed by the well known sculptor, Charles Palliet, who was commissioned by the London based car mascot manufacturers, "L. LeJeune" (Louis LeJeune). Most likely to date from the 1930's/40's.

The rider is hand painted in fox hunting attire. The mascot is signed, "Ch. Palliet" and the underside is stamped, "L.L. Mascots - Made in England". This example is mounted on an attractive octagonal bakelite base. Height (including base) : 183mm, (not including base) : 132mm. Nice condition (plating in good shape, some wear to paint).
