Quality Art Deco "Scottish Motor Trade Assoc." Display Stand. c.1930

Beautiful, nickel plated and enamel, Art Deco display stand/menu holder made for the Scottish Motor Trade Association. Dating from around 1930.
This good quality item is decorated in blue enamel and bears the image of a vintage car and a running "Mercury" type goddess. The base is impressed, "Scottish Motor Trade Association". Attached to the reverse is a clip made to either hold a display board or perhaps a menu. On this clip is stamped the name of the Association's General Secretary, "Gen. Sec. D. A. Fairley C.A.". Overall height : 72mm. Good condition (slight wear and tear, importantly, no chips to enamel).
The Scottish Motor Trade Association was established in 1903 to “encourage, promote and protect” members of the Motor Trade in Scotland. The association is still in existence today.
