Unusual Novelty Motor Car Desk Inkwell. c.1905
SOLD

Unusual, novelty inkwell made in the form of a veteran car. Dating from around 1905.
This motor car is made from wood with a brass grille, headlamp and steering wheel. The seat, which is kept locked by a "hook and eye" latch (appears to be a replacement) opens to reveal a pressed glass inkwell. The lid to the inkwell is nickel plated and is fitted with a swivel cap which can be opened and closed. No indication as to maker or country of manufacture, but suspect that it may have been made in Germany. Overall length : 145mm. Good condition (some minor wear and tear).
