9ct Gold "Austin Motor Company - Golden Jubilee" Wrist Watch. 1950

Original, solid 9ct gold wrist watch made by the English watch manufacturer, "Smiths" to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Austin Motor Company. Dating from 1955.

Large size, solid 9ct pink gold case with snap-on bezel. Inside of case stamped with a full British 9ct gold hallmark corresponding to the year 1954 and with the case maker's mark, "BWC - London Made". Back of case engraved with the following inscription, "Presented by The Austin Motor Company Ltd. in their Golden Jubilee Year to G. Lea  - 25 Years Service". Case diameter (not including winding crown) : 34.5mm. Case condition : 80% (some minor wear).

Off white dial with subsidiary seconds. Raised gilt numerals and hour markers. Signed, "Smiths DeLuxe - 15 Jewels - Shockproof - Made in Great Britain". Dial condition : 90%.

Good quality, gilt, 15 jewel, English made Smiths movement. Movement condition (appearance) : 90%. Time keeping : good.

Comes with original leather covered "Smiths DeLuxe" box with the Austin coat of arms and the inscription, "The Austin Motor Company Ltd. - Golden Jubilee - 1905-1955" impressed into the lid. Box in nice condition.
